Welcome to the "Cologne Creative Writing Homepage" -- the official homepage of the Creative Writing Seminar of the English Seminar of Cologne University. The aim of the Homepage is to provide a forum for Creative Writing students from the University of Cologne to publish and discuss their work. The Homepage is also open to students and writers from other universities.
The English Department of the University of Cologne has a long-standing and active Creative Writing Seminar. Creative Writing has been taught on a regular basis since 1994. The Creative Writing Seminar has exchange programmes with the University of East Anglia, University of Magdeburg, and - as of WS 2003/4 - with the Freie Universität Berlin. The Seminar also organizes readings and guest workshops. Among previous visitors to the Seminar are: John Kinsella, Matthew Sweeney, Martin Harrison and Paul Magrs.
The Cologne Creative Writing Homepage is divided into three basic sections: Writing from Cologne, Writing from outside of Cologne, and Creative Writing Forum. The Forum allows readers and writers to comment and receive constructive feedback on work published on the Homepage. It will also offer tips to writers wanting to get started or needing further help and motivation with ongoing projects.
The address for all submissions can be found at the end of the "submission rules" page.
We greatly look forward to reading your work and hearing your ideas.
Dr. Richard Aczel,
